2018 New Year Message
2018.01.01
Last year, we began selling outside the Tokushukai Group, laying foundations for the current year. We also prepared the infrastructure needed for AI development. Managing TMD, which brings together data on more than 11 million patients, gives us a profound sense of responsibility. We want to contribute to transforming healthcare in Japan.
There are high expectations for AI using medical big data, yet I wonder whether Japan still trails the rest of the world in medical AI development. This fiscal year, almost all Group hospitals will have the new electronic medical record system. We will focus on developing engineers who can undertake practical trials using this growing database and medical AI. We also want to begin developing personal health screening records as a first step towards PHRs, a longstanding goal. We will prepare for the future so our company can contribute to healthcare transformation across Japan as well as within the Group.
Specifically, our plans include:
- Launch of the pharmaceutical sales management system
- Trials of medical assistance AI for diagnosis and treatment
- Standardisation of health screening data and development of personal screening records
- With expansion of our external sales capacity in mind,
- Continued new electronic medical record implementations and upgrades
- Improved Group communication and remote care support systems
- Stronger implementation, maintenance and infrastructure
- In addition to strengthening our organisation for growing website demand,
- Review of PACS backup systems
- Development of a new BI tool for hospital management
- Expanded HR/payroll functions
These are among the initiatives we intend to pursue.
All staff will work together to build and support a new healthcare environment in Japan for the future ahead. We appreciate your continued guidance.
