The Healthcare AI Platform Collaborative Innovation Partnership (HAIP) was established in April this year, with approval from the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare and the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, to develop the technical foundations for medical AI in Japan.

It began with five companies—Nihon Unisys, Hitachi, IBM Japan, SoftBank and Mitsui & Co. Our company joined in June alongside Microsoft Japan and Taiju Life Insurance.

We anticipate diverse collaboration among government, medical associations, healthcare providers, major IT companies, startups and academia. We believe this will become a significant movement to transform healthcare in Japan through AI, and look forward to its development.
