2026.01.01

As the new year begins, I hope you are enjoying a healthy and bright start to the year.
2025 was a particularly important year for our company, marking the full-scale implementation of healthcare AI transformation (AX). By introducing advanced technologies as practical solutions—including generative AI for electronic medical records, wider use of diagnostic imaging AI and automatic meeting minutes—we achieved steady progress in reducing workload and improving efficiency in clinical settings. We also strengthened security across the Group in response to increasingly serious cyber threats, fulfilling our mission to support the foundations of safe and reliable healthcare.

In 2026, healthcare in Japan reaches a major turning point. The medical fee revision taking effect in June will place greater emphasis on healthcare DX and information standardisation. As reform of doctors' working practices accelerates, I believe technology is now essential infrastructure for sustaining healthcare, beyond its role in improving efficiency.

This year, we will further accelerate our work centred on generative AI and contribute more to clinical practice. We will pursue the following priorities to help shape the future of healthcare.

Priorities for FY2026

  1. Deepen our framework for healthcare AX: In preparation for nationwide use of My Number health insurance cards, electronic prescriptions and electronic medical record information sharing, we will respond to an era in which information exchange directly supports assessment of care quality. We will accelerate Group-wide infrastructure development to enable seamless healthcare AX.
  2. Integrate generative AI into core business applications: We will incorporate generative AI into the applications supporting hospital operations, including HR/payroll and pharmaceutical and supply ordering. Automating and advancing back-office work will help healthcare professionals focus on care.
  3. Support communications and recruitment through web solutions: We will strengthen strategic hospital communications using social media and other channels to help secure healthcare professionals. Wider implementation of appointment systems will improve patient convenience and operational efficiency.
  4. Develop HOSPA and improve the patient experience: Alongside fundamental UI/UX improvements, we will strengthen deferred payment and online consultation integration. We aim to enrich the healthcare experience (CX) and improve access beyond geographical and time constraints.
  5. Establish resilient security infrastructure: To counter ransomware and other threats, we will thoroughly implement remote backups for departmental systems and offline backup version management. We will build the highest standards of security to protect essential patient information and healthcare infrastructure.
  6. Accelerate industry–government–academia collaboration and external expansion: We will promote research funded through health and labour sciences programmes, including work with PMDA and HAIP, and joint research with pharmaceutical companies. We will also expand electronic medical record implementation and consulting outside the Group and promote wider national adoption of our products.
  7. Develop an adaptable organisation and highly skilled specialists: We will build an organisation able to respond flexibly to uncertainty. In particular, we will develop specialists who can lead healthcare-specific large language model (LLM) development and use, creating an environment in which every employee can take on challenges and grow.
  8. Strengthen strategic branding and stakeholder collaboration: We will communicate our innovative work through our own media and social channels, raise awareness, and promote diverse partnerships with companies and healthcare providers to create new value together.

I am confident that we can fulfil our mission if every employee understands their role and commits fully to achieving these goals.
I sincerely wish you all a wonderful year.
